Ralph Lancaster was able to recite 1,508 decimal places.

New Austrian Record !
Florian Presslaber was able to recite 6,098 decimal places.

Grace Hare is now the youngest person to make the Pi World Ranking List (age 3 years 56 days).

Current World Record : Chao Lu of China recited 67,890 decimal places on 20 November 2005. For details and an interview see LISTS.

Still no news on Akira Haraguchi, a 60-year-old man from Japan who recited Pi from memory to 83,431 decimal places from Friday, July 1st 2005, to Saturday, July 2nd 2005, and to 100,000 decimal places on October 3rd 2006 to set an unofficial new world record. These performances have never been verified, so they are still unofficial.

David Fiore was the first person to memorize more than 10,000 decimal places of Pi.
