of China recited 67,890 decimal places on 20 November 2005.

Still no news on Akira Haraguchi,
a 60-year-old man from Japan who recited Pi from memory to
83,431
decimal places from Friday, July 1st 2005, to Saturday, July 2nd 2005,
and to
100,000 decimal places on October 3rd 2006
to set an unofficial new world record. These performances have never been verified, so they are still
unofficial.
